This Sunday, September 17 is Catechetical Sunday! All Baptized Catholics are called to be catechists; to echo God’s word. Parents have an important role in building a strong foundation in the faith in the home; the Domestic Church. Catechists who volunteer in Faith Formation are instrumental in passing on the faith to the children in our parish. I am grateful for all that they do to pass on the faith to the little ones, the Confirmation Candidates and those in between. Please pray for our catechist team along with the children and families of our parish. Catechists, helpers, and hall monitors are still needed in Faith Formation on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you are interested in sharing your faith with young people, please call Carlo at the Faith Formation office. Faith Formation classes will meet again this week at 6pm Wednesday, September 20 and Thursday September 21!

Walk-Wiffle-Bike:September 23, 2017

Family-Friendly activities include a 5K Walk/Fun Run, biking on great trails and a Wiffle Ball Tournament

Bereavement Ministry Training

October 21, October 28, and November 4, 2017

This facilitator training is designed for those who have never attended a Ministry of Consolation workshop. The first two sessions, (October 21st _{and October 28}th_{) begin at 9am and end at 4pm; the} last session (November 4) begins at 9am and ends at 12 noon. Check-in for all three sessions begins at 8:30am.

Each participant receives a Ministry of Consolation Workbook, first developed by the National Catholic Ministry to the Bereaved (NCMB). Time will be devoted to grief, communication skills, set-ting up the parish program (including the Order of Christian Funerals), caring for the minister, facili-tating support groups, healing and meditation, and multicultural issues in bereavement ministry. Participants are required to attend all three sessions and will receive a certificate of comple-tion at the end. Please register by October 1, 2017.

This diocesan program takes place at the Blanchette Catholic Center in Crest Hill and will be pre-sented by Valerie Maty, Associate Director of the Office of Family Ministry and Sister Sharon Marie Stola, OSB, D.Min., Director of the Office of Divine Worship. If you are interested in becoming The $75 fee includes a manual, handouts, continental breakfast and lunch on October 21 and Oc-tober 28, and continental breakfast on November 4, 2017. Baptisms: Pre-baptism Class is required before your date will be set. Please register two to three months in advance.

Weddings: Spiritual Preparation begins at least SIX months in advance. Do not make your reservations until you have met with the pastor.
