DECLARATION ON RELIGIOUS

FREEDOM – Second Vatican Council: “A sense of the dignity of the human person has been impressing itself more and more deeply on the consciousness of contemporary man, and the demand is increasingly made that men should act on their own judgment, enjoying and making use of a responsible freedom, not driven by coercion but motivated by a sense of duty. The demand is likewise made that constitutional limits should be set to the powers of government, in order that there may be no

encroachment on the rightful freedom of the person and of associations. This demand for freedom in human society chiefly regards the quest for the values proper to the human spirit. It regards, in the first place, the free exercise of

religion in society. This Vatican Council takes careful note of these desires in the minds of men. It proposes to declare them to be greatly in accord with truth and justice. To this end, it searches into the sacred tradition and doctrine of the Church-the treasury out of which the Church continually brings forth new things that are in harmony with the things that are old.”

Most of us own more than we realize. But no matter the size of an estate, if you want to provide for your surviving relatives and others, you need to have a will. If you die without making a will, you lose the ability to control the disposition of your assets. The law of the state will tell your family where your money and property go. Your bequest can be a specific amount of money, property or stock. Naming our Parish as a charitable

beneficiary is simple; to make a gift, simply include the following words in your will: “I give, devise and bequeath to St. Peter & St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Haverstraw (write in the amount) to be used for the needs of the Church.”

Segundo Concilio Vaticano: “Los

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Registration has started for September 2021. Our first class starts Saturday, September 11th_{. We are having}

in-person classes back in St. Peter’s school. If you have not finished this years payment, please do as soon as possible. All fees for this coming year must be paid in full by August 16th_{. Your}

child will not be fully registered if all fees are not paid in full. Our summer hours are: Monday through Wednesday from 10am to 2PM and then on Monday

nights from 6PM to 8PM. Please call our office at (845) 429 – 8824 for more

information.

Beginning in two weeks on

Monday, July 12

, we have major

work done on our church organ.

This necessary cleaning and tuning

work will require three weeks: two

weeks for the cleaning and one

week for tuning. During these

weeks we will celebrate daily

Masses in our parish hall

underneath the church. Weekend

Masses on Saturday and Sunday

we will continue to celebrate in our

church.

EDUCACION RELIGIOSA

Las inscripciones para septiembre de 2021 han comenzado. Nuestra primera clase comienza el sábado 11 de

septiembre. Vamos a tener clases en persona en la escuela de San Pedro. Si no ha terminado el pago de este año, hágalo lo antes posible. Todas las cuotas para el próximo año tienen que pagarse en su totalidad antes del 16º de agosto. Su hijo no estará

completamente registrado si no se pagan todas las cuotas en su totalidad. Nuestro horario de verano es: de lunes a miércoles de 10 AM a 2 PM y luego los lunes por la noche de 6 PM hasta 8 PM. Por favor llame a nuestra oficina al (845) 429 - 8824 para obtener más información.
