You must be willing to attend bi-monthly meet-ings, attend classes to become a Certified Catechist in the Diocese of Orlando and must be able to pass a fin-gerprint and background check that is mandated by the Diocese. Please contact Fr. Bart, Linda Jones or Olga Miyar if you are interested in this very special ministry.
The Rosary Ministers Invitation
In October, the Church celebrates Our Lady of the Rosary, in veneration of
Our Blessed Mother Mary.
In 1917, during one of Our Lady of Fatima’s apparitions to three children of Portugal, she encouraged them to pray the rosary, offering prayers of petition for special graces to be bestowed by her Son, Jesus through her upon them.
In her honor, the Rosary Ministers will be reciting the rosary before all weekday and weekend masses during the month of October.
We will also pray together at 6:00 pm on Mon, Wed, Thu & Fri.
We encourage you to join us, offering your own peti-tions to Our Lady. Come to experience the power of the Rosary prayed together as a community.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF CENTRAL FLORIDA ANNUAL COLLECTION OCTOBER 21/22, 2017 Please support the Annual Collection for Catholic Charities of Central Florida which will be held next weekend, October 21-22, 2017. This collection is held only once a year and donations are greatly needed to help families and individuals who are facing difficult struggles. Our goal is to minister to them through that struggle to get their feet on the right path. Please support this important ministry and sustain the works of mercy we provide to more than 10,000 people a year who are in need. For more information, visit www.cflcc.org/annual -collection.

RECEIVING GOD'S JOY
The final scene introduces the unacceptably dressed ban-quet guest. Matthew is concerned here about the full readiness of those who accept God's invitation. A superficial assent or participation is not enough. God wants our whole selves invest-ed here.
Jesus' followers are to be prepared for the banquet, as sug-gested by the wedding garment. The meaning of the garment is not clearly explained. It's helpful to recall that a wedding ban-quet, then and now, is a profoundly joyous event. Being dressed appropriately means being ready to celebrate. Our hearts must be ready to receive God's joy.
Indeed, it can be difficult to be receptive to joy when we have been hurt in many ways during our lives. Our pain may cause us into close up, pulling away from others and away from God. It helps to remember that our God overflows with joy and is eager to share the fullness of joy with us. In our times of suffering, God actively invites us to receive this joy, and in turn to share it with others.
